The World Class bar is only on the Solstice Class ships. If you haven't cruised in a while you may remember it as the molecular bar where drinks were made in unique ways with dry ice and liquid nitrogen. Well, this bar set up is similar from a design stand point but the drinks are different. These drinks are taking after the "craft cocktail" phase that is all the rage not only in the US but throughout the world. The drinks here take longer to make, but are worth the wait. They're well crafted and the bartenders are exceptionally knowledgable on what they're making, on the ingredients, and on liquor in general.
They're not cheap. Some will go above the premium package, but that is ok you just pay the different. Even if you have a classic package all you need to do is pay the difference. Some are priced at $12 while others are priced at $14 to $16, so just a few dollars more but definitely worth it.
You cannot walk up and order a regular drink. No beer. No wine. No vodka martinis. Simply order from the menu, or you can have a scotch or rum neat or on the rocks (given it is the selection they have at this bar).
The bases are everything from rum, to gin, vodka, and whiskey/scotch. They also have a few very nice scotches as well which you can order neat or on the rocks.
I've heard people say they don't know where it is! OK, so ready carefully...you don't want to miss it! The World Class Bar is located on deck 5, center ship, near the jewelry / watch shops just diagonal from Cafe Al Bacio. Now you know!
This varies from cruise to cruise. I've noticed that on some cruises it is never that crowded so you can always grab a seat at the bar. Other cruises it will have a huge following and be packed early! It usually opens at 5pm and is open until Midnight or a little later depending on the day. Try to get a seat at the bar if you can as its wonderful to watch the bartenders make the drink and have them explain what they're doing as they make it.
If you don't want to sit at the bar there are tables around the bar that you can sit at and they will take your order and bring the drinks to you.
My personal favorite at World Class is Zacapa Above the Clouds. It is Zacapa rum infused with smoke from wood chips that are smoked right in front of you. It is a fun show and a great rum. It makes for a wonderful after dinner drink. If you're a fan of a light bourbon / rye whiskey or if you like a good brandy, you'll enjoy this.
Edward does enjoy the Zacapa Above the Clouds, but he also likes his Oban scotch which they carry here.
