Ocean View Cafe

Ocean View Cafe is the buffet on Celebrity ships. It is open 24/7 for water, tea, juice, and coffee and open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner during select times. As a general rule of thumb it will always have some food between the hours of 6:30am and 1:00am. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner times are typically set times but they can vary slightly depending on the ports and itinerary. However, the hours are meant to accommodate both early eaters and late eaters for all meals.

What kind of food does Ocean View Cafe have?

The cafe has a variety of food and it is all served buffet style, with a few items "made to order" as you walk up depending on the day and the meal. The food will vary but there will always be some set standards such as the Pizza and Pasta stations. There is a salad bar as well as breads and cold cuts so you can make a sandwich. You'll almost always have the following three as well: Asian, Mexican, and Indian. Then you'll have what I call your "standard American" fare which will be a mixture of chicken, white fish, a carver for turkey, beef, or pork and of course all the typical sides that would go with. There is a full dessert section as well as ice cream.

Sitting down to eat

The Ocean View Cafe is a very good size and there are many tables and chairs. With that being said at very peak times during sea days finding a seat can sometimes be challenging. Going in at 12:30pm for instance might make your head spin with how many people are in there eating. However, we've found that the flow around the food is pretty good and not all that difficult to get what you want. In addition to indoor seating there is outdoor seating off the back of the cafe at the aft of the ship. This provides a beautiful view of the wake or usually read port views if you're port.

Are there servers to bring drinks?

Yes, you will see bar servers walking around offering you everything from sodas to wine to hard drinks. During peak times you may need to flag them down but they're usually very attentive. There is also a walk up bar in ocean view cafe the you can walk up to in order to get a drink that is not free. 

What free drinks are available?

The drink machines will have water, iced tea, coffee, and typically have a lemonade and a guava or island style juice. 

What if I have dietary restrictions?

If you have dietary restrictions please be sure to ask the staff and not necessarily trust the cards set up in front of the food. I would always confirm. You can also always ask a staff member to help you if you are unsure and ask them to show you options that fit your needs. If you need to do this (ask a staff member to escort you around to get familiar with options) then try to get there early before the big rush so you have the best selection! 

What do we do when we're done eating?

Ummm...get up and leave? Haha...the staff will clear your plates for you. So just leave them on the table and typically someone grabs them within seconds.
